Sunset Pythons is a collaborative effort between me (Neil Johnson) and my teenage daughter (Alyssa).
I have been interested in reptiles all my life, and started very young catching turtles, snakes, and lizards during my summers in Colorado and Nebraska. After college I bought my first large snake, a beautiful reticulated python. Soon after I added a Red-Tail Boa, and continued until my wife was pregnant with Alyssa. At that point we sold the big snakes, and my exposure to reptiles was again limited to what I could catch and release.
By the time Alyssa had reached age seven, she had become really interested in reptiles, so we bought her a ball python. We still have Tuleo today, and he is our largest male at about 1900 grams. We soon bought ball pythons for my son and other daughter as it started to become a family affair. Alyssa is very knowledgeable about her hobby, and does elementary school presentations each year to help educate and bring her hobby to others. In the fall of 2006 she did a 4-H presentation, and took Grand Champion for Douglas County Colorado.
Recently we decided to try our hand at breeding ball pythons, and the result is what you are seeing, Sunset Pythons!!! We are hobby breeders, but none the less pride ourselves in having and producing high quality animals. Our snakes come first, and we believe in sharing our passion with you.
Thank You ,
Neil Johnson & Alyssa Johnson
